1:00PM – LUNCH KEYNOTE – Dr Victoria Keener, Research Fellow at the East-West Center: State of the Planet Update

2:00PM – WORKING SESSIONS

  • Campus Sustainability Planning (w/ Patrick Thibaudeau) – This two-day working session will be highly interactive, and allow campuses to share draft campus sustainability plans that have been developed, to create shared framework to track & measure progress systemwide that allows for each campus to plan & implement in a way that is appropriate to its unique context
  • Sustainability Curriculum Coordination (w/ Arnim Wiek – This working session will build from the gathering convened by President Lassner at UH Hilo on Feb 12th to provide a forum for `Ike Hawaii, STEM, Sustainability, SENCER, and Malama Honua to begin communicating & coordinating with each other to enhance the teaching & learning experience at the university.
  • Student Leadership (w/ Nicole Chatterson) –  All students that were nominated by their peers for the President’s Green Student Leader Award are invited to participate in this session. Strengthen Student Sustainability Coalition of Hawaii (SSCH), and begin planning to support World Youth Congress hosted in Hawaii in summer 2017 + annual summer student leadership events beyond. 
  • Strategic Energy Management (w/ Wendell Brase) – Key internal & external stakeholders gathered to build strategy to optimize energy performance across campuses and coordinate existing resources to develop framework for a Strategic Energy Partnership that will accelerate progress towards our net zero energy goal .
